Hermanus Country Market

The Hermanus Country Market is a real country market with over 90 stall holders offering a range of food & beverages, hand-made crafts and entertainment. All of the traders have been hand selected to provide you not only with quality and unique products, but also with a positive attitude that contributes to your enjoyment of visiting the market.

Every Saturday morning, from 9am to 2pm, you will find local residents and visitors alike meeting up at Hermanus Country Market. 

Golfing

Hermanus is boasts one of the most beautiful golf courses n the country - the 27 hole Hermanus Golf Club - a secret favourite of many golfing pro's. There are also 3 other golf courses in the surrounding area for golfers who like a bit of variety. The newest is the Arabella Golf Course at the Arabella Hotel & Spa on the banks of the Bot River. The course at Kleinbaai, 4 km from Gansbaai, has a sea view and the Kleinmond course is situated in a spectacular setting at the foot of the Three Sisters mountain.

FLIGHT OF GIANTS

Take the Flight of Giants and see the whales from the air with African Wings. If the whales aren't in the bay African Wings will whizz you off to see the big 5 - just a 30 minute flight away.

SHARK DIVING

The nearby town of Gansbaai is known as the Great White Shark capital of the world. Just off the coast there are 2 islands teeming with sea life - Dyer Island home to a breeding colony of Jackass Penguins and Geyser Island a seal breeding ground. A veritable feast for hungry Great White Sharks. There are several shark diving tour operators that offer shark cage diving for the brave and surface viewing for those who'd prefer not to get too close. Shark diving shuttles leave from Hermanus daily.

THE FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK

First Fridays Artwalk in Hermanus is part of a worldwide initiative to make art and art galleries more accessible to the public. On the first Friday of every month, art galleries in the centre of Hermanus remain open until 8pm.
