Cannot rate this guest house highly enough. It was incredibly comfortable and the staff could not be more attentive, friendly and helpful. The views from the front of the property, breakfast and all the little details were outstanding. Probably the best guest house experience I have ever had. We’ll be back!

During the past fourteen years, I've stayed in numerous hotels and guest houses in the Western and Eastern Cape. I must confess, that the "homely" atmosphere at La Fontaine, coupled with the friendly and helpfulness of the staff, were, for me, the "stand-out" features ( besides the tastefully , and comfortably furnished rooms ). I sincerely trust that I'll be afforded another opportunity in the foreseeable future to spend time again at La Fontaine.

I was able to enjoy an incredibly good time and I am very grateful for that! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, everything is clean, beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail. Pluspunten · Het personeel was geweldig. Natasja ging echt tot het uiterste om ons een bijzonder verblijf te garanderen. Zwembad opwarmen, pizza bestellen, tips en tricks over de omgeving, elke ochtend een glimlach en een praatje. Prijs kwaliteit is echt super Minpunten · Het enige dat me wat opviel (maar waar we gelukkig geen last van hebben gehad doordat de andere gasten heel rustig waren) was dat het plafond en muren wat gehorig waren.

Second time to Hermanus, first time staying at La Fontaine Guest House. The guest house itself is beautifully decorated and furnished, and the rooms are well-lit and well-appointed. We never ran out of power due to loadshedding, and faucets ran hot water immediately without us needing to wait (no one likes avoiding ice-cold water whilst standing in the shower waiting for the geyser to kick in!) There are other facilities on-site such as a braai area, a pool, a beautiful outdoor area with table and chairs perfect for warmer weather. Natasha and her staff were so warm and welcoming, they made us feel right at home from the very beginning. We had a lovely time chatting with Natasha but also had privacy when we needed it. We received a free upgrade to a sea view room and I would highly recommend booking it - the view is truly unparalleled and it was delightful sitting outdoors on the terrace with a book in hand. The breakfast was absolutely scrumptious - we really enjoyed the spread! Chef is a genius with the perfectly cooked eggs. We will definitely come and stay here again when we are back in Hermanus. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

You can travel wide and far but sometimes you come across a few gems. This is one of those. From the time we checked in we were made to feel that it was our place. Natasha in charge went out of her way to make us feel not only welcome, but special. We were treated like royalty. The place with all its antiques and beautiful art works was amazing to stay in. All the little touches of detail added to our feeling special. The access to cookies, sweets and nuts and the evening help your self sherry - little chocolates upon arrival, gorgeous comfortable beds, fluffy white duvets and pillows - glorious to sleep in. What a pleasure!! And then ...... breakfast the next day - from the fresh fruit to bacon and eggs - everything freshly made. The views from the breakfast room were stunning and there is nothing like starting your day with good food and good views. Altogether - an amazing stay and I would not hesitate to recommend La Fontaine to anyone looking for a place to stay. Please excuse the pun - but we had a "Whale of a time"!!! Natasha you were absolutly amazing - thank you for making us feel like family and not guests!

Seaside view is truly what it claims, unuobstructed. Beautiful little hotel, everything was perfectly clean, in working order. Enough space in the room and plenty of space in lounge /living room area. Little pool. Very engaged owner. Great breakfast (and very generous cold and hot options/menu, almost too much to try it all). No lift to 1st floor and narrow staircase (which wasn't a problem for me but may be with mobility issues/heavy luggage)

I spent the night of 2 December 2022 at La Fontaine Guest House. I stayed in a garden room. The room was really spacious and had an entirely separate lounge. The bathroom was fitted with a shower and bath and again was very spacious. It's bigger than the pictures show. Everything was considered, well appointed and super clean. Natasha and her staff were attentive, friendly and super professional. Outside the room was a small private courtyard with a table and braai area. The onsite parking was also a bonus. The location is superb. At breakfast, you'll have an amazing view of Gansbaai in the distance. The center of Hermanus is within easy walking distance. No more than 800m and you'll discover shops, art galleries and restaurants. I can highly recommend this guest house and will definitely be staying there again in the future.

The perfect location both right off the cliff path and right next to (but not in the middle of) the restaurant and shopping district. Natasha provides a very Personal experience and is helpful with suggestions and reservations without being pushy. Definitely recommend

we love the place and the people. great location near the centre, great breakfast, and great room 1 . Everything about la Fontaine is very good. the food in Hermanus is excellent...and the whales are mesmerising. We always love visiting.
